guys I need a help about the new stable kernel

hello guys missed you all up
I was having college exams :mad::mad:
anyway I have ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop beside windows
and i found updates and am installing them nw but the kernel in the update is 2.6.35...:S:S:
I have heard alot abot how fast 2.6.39.1 is and i want to try it but i dont know how do download it ??
download it then what? or use teh terminal ?? i dont know,,all i know is i need more experience ..and i will try to get it ...
can you guys help my with the kernel problem???
