That depends on what you want to get a hold of.:)
Whatever you need to do, work only from CLI. Avoid graphical tools when you can. Eventually, you'll start automatically using the terminal for everything.

If you are looking to get certified and for a career then RHEL is your best bet, but that comes with a support cost without which you can't get updates etc. Your second best bet is either CentOS or Scientific Linux which are both rebuilds of the RHEL source code and while they don't have the RHN, are pretty much the same thing. Your third best shot is Fedora which is a more bleeding edge community based Red Hat distro.

That said, experience of other distributions won't hurt any.

I have CentOS and would like to stick with that, I am trying to keep myself on the command line but its difficult at times when i dont have any idea of the command. Hopefully I will get a hold of commands soon

This might help get you a little more familiar with many of the common commands: Common Linux Commands - For Dummies
Use the man pages for information on a given command:

Also have a look at the help documentation. Many commands can be looked up with:

The key is to just stick with it.:D

There are some basic task as you write, making a directory or creating a file. For me the most important commmands are man (for man pages) and apropos to find command.
You should get familiar with the commands cd, ls, df, du, man, apropos, apt-get, cat, vi, more, less, tail....
type
>whatis apropos
or
>man apropos
to see what a command does

Also get familiar with the unix/linux directory structure
/home
/var/log/
/proc
...

google for "linux shell basics" to know more

All of you guys are being really helpful. I am using man command a lot. One of my friend gave me an advise of "RTFM" and since that day my best friend is manual :)
