Safest Way to Share Configuration/Mounts
I recently got my raspberry pi (sweet!), so I have it set up as my media box to my tv. What I want to do is share the .xbmc folder with my laptop (basically make it my laptops .xbmc folder also). My media is all on externals so I suspect I'll also have to mount the drives over the network to my laptop in an identical fashion (/media/usb, /media/usb1).
My question is what is the safest, most efficient way of doing this? I've asked similar questions before but never really understood the best way and this question is slightly different ;)
My understanding is:
samba automount (not very safe through fstab)
samba non auto mount (not very efficient)
openssh -- not sure if raspberry pi supports this or not...
any other options?
