SMB error-please help

hi, I am running PCLinuxOS. new to linux and i chose this one since i could not get ubuntu to install. i get the following error when i try to access shared drives on my windows vista server:An error occurred while loading smb://192.168.0.254/ns1:
The process for the smb://192.168.0.254 protocol died unexpectedly. 192.168.0.254 is a static LAN IP assigned to the server and ns1 being the drive name. i am able to remote desktop into my windows server but cannot access drives. this is a must have since all data resides on this server. also how can i share usb printer that is resides on the linux machine with my other windows pc's in the house. any help would be appreciated. by the way lisa and smb are running in the system services, not sure how to properly configure though, if this matters. thanks again.
