Install Abiword on Damn Small Linux

I was recently given a 13-year-old computer and DSL is the only distro that would actually run smoothly on it. I plan to use the computer to type papers for school, save them to a .doc on my flash drive, and print them on my main Windows computer.

My question is: how would I install Abiword on Damn Small Linux? I don't have an internet connection on that computer. The only way I could get data onto that computer is on a CD or USB flash drive.

You can download abiword an build it from source:
Index of /downloads/abiword/2.6.3/source

You can put this package on USB and untar it on the PC you want to install abiword on...just do: tar xvf abiword .... .tar.gz
It will create a directory where you untarred it, you should enter the directory and follow instructions from the "INSTALL" text file included.

usually something like this:
./configure
make
make install

Get abiword with .dsl extension from their download site.
Put into your usb drive then simply activate it using mydsl control panel.
