Question Backtrack 2.0: Fatal server error

I've already tried xorgconf and another types of x like flux but i didn't work.

Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support
	 at X.Org Wiki - Home
 for help.
Please also check the log file at "/var/log/Xorg.0.log" for additional information.
Here are the xorg.conf that it's located in the same computer (with the same monitor) but running Ubuntu installed in the hard disk:

Code:
# xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

I have the same problem with a stock dell inspiron and a 15" lcd monitor. video detection & configuration has been the bane of linux since the beginning and it's still a problem here. Bootup always shows me "you passed an undefined node number". I've tried all the various options presented on startup, with xconf, etc., and still eventually get a black screen that says "Cannot display this video mode". blah....
