Can Moblin be run from USB Memory Stick?

I am interested in trying out Moblin now that the new beta is out but don't want to install it on my netbook's hard drive. Does Moblin run from a Memory Stick such as a Live Image?

N.E.R.D.: Writing Moblin (and Ubuntu) USB images using dd in OSX has instructions for using mac-since its dd command, it is very similar to linux dd command.
