LFS documentation is perfect. you need to have internet connection to download packages and compile it from source code and install them.

Remember LFS takes lot of time , I have spent a day on it ,but didn't work. I messed something. Then few weeks back,It took almost 3 days to complete it.

You will learn a lot with LFS. Any issues ,you can always post them here

Linux Form Scratch is not the easiest thing in the world you know.
It is meant for advanced Linux users who want to make a new distro starting from almost point 0.
If you just want an Ubuntu or Fedora respin with some extra programs and different artwork, take a look at tools like reconstructor or Revisor.

Making a totally new distro seems pointless to me, since there are about 300-500 distors(+ a gazillion not known respins). The really succesful ones like Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSuse and Debian have funding from rich companies(Red Hat, Novell, Canonical) and huge communities. I suggest to make a respin so that a well known distro fits your needs better out of the box.
