kanotix wireless

i have just got kanotix up and running but the wireless is sorta screwy as the OS is saying that i'm connected but i can't surf the web, download etc
does anyone know why this is happening?

Could you give us a little more information?

Your wireless card model perhaps? The kind of encryption your network is using? The driver you are using for this card?

Are you able to ping anything?

What is the output of

well i'm using wep encryption im using a belkin f5d6001 pci card the output of iwconfig is:
wlan0 IEEE 802.11b Mode:Managed Frequency:2.422 GHz

Access Point: Not-Associated Bit Rate=11 Mb/s Sensitivity=80/85

Retryn Fragment thrff

Link Quality:30/100 Signal level:-115 dBm Noise level:-186 dBm

Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0

Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

and i can't ping anything

What are you using to connect?

how do you mean what like software wise? cause i dont really know lol i am trying everything KDE has i have no useful wireless tools

Assuming your card is working properly just open terminal and do netcardconfig as sux
