adewolf Just Joined! Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 4	Elive with ATAPI CDROM and SATA Disk Hello all: My first thread here. I am not the only one with this problem. I am trying to install Elive linux which is Debian with Enlightenment 17 window manager. When I boot the install/live CD it dumps me to the shell when it loads the RAMFS and I cannot find the CDROM. dmesg shows the CDROM as found but I cannot find any /dev/hd? devices. Looks like it seend my SATA hard drive OK, /dev/sda?. What can I do here?? Alex DeWolf

carolosf Just Joined! Join Date: Dec 2006 Posts: 5	some new motherboards have sata support for cdrom, i think this causes issues with most livecds, i know the latest gentoo works on these machines you just have to wait for the drivers/modules to be included... if you can download it, try the unstable elive, might work, haven't tried elive rocks!!
