    Well, you can't do true VB.NET in Linux. The closest thing I've seen is GAMBAS, which works with both MySQL and Linux.
    Stand up and be counted as a Linux user!

    Are you planning on running the front end on the linux server?

    If you're running the vb.net frontend from a windows machine you should be able to access the mysql server using MyODBC
