    MySQL Problem

    i cannt start mysql .

    Code:
    [root@mercury /]# service mysqld start
Initializing MySQL database:                               [  OK  ]
Timeout error occurred trying to start MySQL Daemon.
Starting MySQL:                                            [FAILED]
    any idea? im on centos 4
