Hiya jsauni, welcome to the forums
When you get to the boot screen "boot:" type in
And then press enter, I think this will allow you to boot correctly.Code:noacpi acpi=off

Hey jsauni,
I know this is really old, but I had the same problem as you, and while the answer is the type this during the boot:
noacpi acpi=off
When using Damn Small Linux, you have to preface it with dsl.
So, when you see the boot: line, type dsl noacpi acpi=off, and you should be fine.
Good luck.
