No Write Access
Having trouble accessing my User Account. No write access to /home/...../.ice authority. Xandros Premium 4.0.
2 weeks ago similiar problem. I'm sure others have had similiar problems. Have done, just about, everything to resolve but permission keeps changing to root account upon startup. User Account is not accessible.
Your assistance would be appreciated. Thank you very much!

cd to /home/user_id folder as root and delete .ICEauthority and .Xauthority files.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I would like to be able to open User Account in order to obtain all information saved for the last 2 wks. addresses, bookmarks, etc.

Execute this
Log out and try logging in as Regular user.Code:cd /home/<user_id> rm -f .ICEauthority .Xauthority
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
