    Hi Mike,
I couldn't got it working at all.
Do I need to use version 6.005 or 6.004 for r8169?

Tough time for me as need to ship some 50 odd desktops with tow can cards.
Not able to fix the onboard 8110/8169 card.

Suggest me something, what all can be done.

    Reg,
    Sushil

Which version of Linux are you using? Ubuntu?

It should be fairly easy once you get the file extracted, you have the README, which tells you to do "make make install", where exactly are you getting stuck? How far have you gotten yet?

I am getting some error 1 or error2 even while running the make clean modules. There are something like no directory to run clean.

Also make install also not working and giving some directory error.

I would re-extract those files and instead of running make clean modules, just run make only. Please post the exact error msgs.

    Hi Mike,
Did not see your message for a while. As mentioned in my earlier post, the behavior of the system was erratic. When the network cable is plugged out it logs in fast (normal) but when the cable is in, takes ages. Tried PCLinuxOS live cd and it detected the network card properly and was able to connect to net also. So installed Pclinuxos in place of Centos!!!! (though I wanted to stick to one OS, Centos, as it is running on another machine and learn to use it). Even with Pclinuxos I am having problems of different kind so thought I will ask help in a separate thread. Thank you for all the help in trying to solve my problems.

You're welcome, I'm glad you got it fixed and good luck with PCLinuxOS!
