I forgot my root password and cant find my disk, is there a way to reset my password without having to do a reinstall.

I really don't want to have to wait on and go through the whole process of burning and installing

ok i used ydl single, now i am receiving a request to enable swap space sh-3.1#.

how do i do this

The command for enabling swap space is:

swapon /dev/hdaX

...replacing the hdaX with the partition where your own swap resides such as hda5, sda5, etc.

Thanks, but I resolved it at that prompt I needed to input -htpasswd and this allows you to reset your password
