From my personal experience, XGL is a notorious source of problems. I had all sorts of weirdness happen to me the last time I installed it. That's just my situation, though. You might have better luck.

I think AIGLX is what Compiz uses by default, and I've had no issues with it on my recent systems. You're probably safe sticking with that.Which will give best performance?
The installer for Sabayon should install the GRUB bootloader for you. You definitely need some sort of bootloader, whether it be GRUB, LILO, or just the Microsoft NTLDR.And do i need a bootloader like GRUB to choose whichOS to run?Registered Linux user #270181
