    how could i find named.conf


    i am trying to search named.conf but i am unable to find this file even /etc/named.conf.plz help i am using centos5

    is it prerequesite to configure named service if i want to run squid in transparent mode?

    Did you already install bind services?

    Not really but if needed, you still can manipulate your /etc/hosts file just to resolve any hostname lookup!

    Hi,

    The named.conf is in /etc/named/ or /etc/bind9 directory or /var/named/named.conf .

    locate named.conf
    command. If it returns with no result, that means you didn't install dns bind
