Jay says y'all are nuts!
But all hail Dan and Jonathan for the advise! And thanks to roky for the support!
Crux 2.5 has successfully booted up! Now to begin the tinkering process!
You guys were right about the modules. I re-compiled, then had to edit my menu.lst to include a boot parameter.
Santa got my letter!!!

lol... never mind the boot parameters! I just now removed them to check and see if they were really neccessary and it turns out that they ain't. So just make sure that everything is built-in (just like you said)!
Dan, you'll probably have fewer mistakes than me by virtue of experience, but a lot of options that I got used to in the 2.4 kernel are ever so slightly different in the 2.5.
Just in case you do need it, though...

Just got my 2.5 installed, booted and running. No problems except when trying to set root password. I remember running into this last time but didn't address it in the "How to install CRUX" as I thought it was just something weird I was doing or not doing....
When chrooted into the install and trying to set root's password I get this:
root:# passwd root Changing password for root Enter the new password (minimum of 5, maximum of 127 characters) Please use a combination of upper and lower case letters and numbers. Bad password: too short. Warning: weak password (enter it again to use it anyway). Password changed. root:#
Did you run into this Jay?
