moving files - problems
back again ^_^;;;
i gave linux one more chance and until now i had no more problems
until now lol
i am attempting to move some files about on my system
a skin folder for amsn to the actual skins folder for the program
and a repo folder to the /etc/yum.repos.d
of course being a linux noob it doesnt work and i can only assume that it is because program folders and what not are read only and cannot be added to or changed without doing particular actions i.e. changing settings or using certain commands
i would be greatful if anybody could tell me how to do it
that is if you understand what i just spouted ^_^;;

Well, can you give us an example of what you have tried and why it didn't work? Files that are read only can be copied, but you might need to make sure that you have write permissions for where you are copying *to*
