Hi all I have the following

laptop nc 4400
os centos 5.3

wireless adapter intel pro/wireless 3945ABG

I was not able to activate my wirless interface

iwl3945: iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode firmware file req failed: Reason

i did the following

prompt wireless_troubleshoot]# dmesg | grep firmware
iwl3945: iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode firmware file req failed: Reason -2
iwl3945: iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode firmware file req failed: Reason -2
iwl3945: iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode firmware file req failed: Reason -2

could someone kindly guide me how to resolve the above error?

I think the most likely reason is that you don't have the firmware installed. I don't use CentOS, so I couldn't tell you if they have a package in their repos for it.
