Is there a way to save settings on Slax on cd?

I want to start the gui in 1280 x 1024 85 refresh rate.

I started Slax with a boot prompt:
changes=/dev/sda/slax
I then set the gui to what I wanted, and asked it to start with that
setting.

There were files created in a changes file in the slax directory.

I then gave the same prompt when I started Slax the next time,
but it didn't work
