installing puppy linux to and old laptop

A compaq laptop that had a cdrom that I installed Puppy didn't have that capability Phil. That was why I had to use Smart Boot manager floppy.

Thanks, I also know there exist a grub Boot-Floppy but it is so hard to believe for me.
I also had a similar Problem (also with hp compaq) but after saying in the bios: "load standard defaults" the problem was gone.
After this it excepted the boot sequence: CD before hd - and it did it.
