I need to recompile the kernel but when trying to download the source i get his errror.

Can't download kernel source.
I need to recompile the kernel but when trying to download the source i get his errror.

you need 11MB more disk space!

Seems you were right, i had to uninstall wine, doesn't matter though as i'm going to use Vmware instead. my / partition is around 3.5-4 gb yet i only have 300mb free space left and the only things i have installed are amsn, firefox. Surely Yoper does not take up over 3gig.
on a side note:
i take it you did a stage 1 install of gentoo. which do you find faster and is it by much.
