Nautilus file manager not running on Linpus Linux for Acer Aspire One

I have an Acer Aspire one with Linpus Linux. While trying to install VLC to run AVi video files (unsuccesfully) I seem to have 'disabled' the Nautilus file manager. Is this possible? When I click on my docs or My Music nothing happens. What have I done wrong? Is there any command I can enter into the terminal to fix this? I'm a linux newbie so I need step-by step commands.
    Thanks

    Hello and Welcome.
Try launching Nautilus from the command line,,like terminal or konsole, this might give you an error message that will help pinpoint the problem.
