    error while installing mysql

    Hi friends

    I'm installing mysql on my centos system

    and after installation i'g getting error

    Starting MySQL..Manager of pid-file quit without updating file.[FAILED]

    whats the problem. can anybody knows.

    How did you install mysql? Does it throw any other message?
    Post the output of this
    Code:
    su -c rpm -q mysql
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
