I just want to know how to install a program on linux ? I have just installed puppy on an old laptop and it has a new lease on life

Why can't you just download a program you like and click 'install' , like you do in windows ?

- 02-24-2010 #3Not super easy to answer that question, but suffice it to say, there are pros and cons to having self-contained executables like Windows. They're more convenient, but less efficient system resource wise and less secure.Why can't you just download a program you like and click 'install' , like you do in windows ?
