Hi,

I am running the following version of Linux on my Linux system :
more /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 7)

uname -a
2.6.9-78.0.17.ELsmp #1 SMP Thu Mar 5 04:52:17 EST 2009 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux

I am seeing consistant errors in the /var/log/messages file as well as these messages are being reported by dmseg

Mar 18 15:17:07 kernel: svc: short len 4, dropping request
Mar 18 15:17:09 kernel: svc: short len 4, dropping request
Mar 18 15:17:10 kernel: RPC: bad TCP reclen 0x00800103 (large)
Mar 18 15:17:10 kernel: RPC: bad TCP reclen 0x00800103 (large)
Mar 18 15:17:11 kernel: RPC: bad TCP reclen 0x47455420 (non-terminal)
Mar 18 15:17:11 kernel: RPC: bad TCP reclen 0x47455420 (non-terminal)

I have searched other sites and can't find and exact match on the message above nor an exact fix to this potential issue. It seems to be popular concensus that this is generated by the NFS server subsystem, but I would like to confirm this as well as correct this. Anybody have any ideas? Any help offered would be greatly appreciated. It is getting rather frustrating tracking this down. I should add that the Linux system the issue is occurring on does have NAS devices allocated to it.

Regards,
