    I can fix the Lilo thing. I'm sure of that. Its just that it was the normal for Absolute.
    No Mint doesn't work.

    I hate to say it but this sounds like a classic hardware problem to me. Make sure you run surface scans on your hard disk. Test your system memory. Visually inspect your motherboard and GPU for blown capacitors.

    Oh yay. Sounds awesome. Sigh. I'll look at it. But it really doesn't explain why most distros don't run and two do...

    Have you tested the RAM? Try taking it out and reseating it. If you have more than one stick, just try one (or a pair) at a time. Also try changing the order of the sticks.
