    Mixed Windows Linux Network

I have Fedora 11 using KDE as the GUI. I have been mired with setting up a mixed network of Linux and Windows machines. Linux sees windows can get files, good. Windows machines and the hub cant see Linux machine? Interestly Spireworks can see the whole shebang.
The IP addresses for all machines are fixed.
Its set up as User rather than Shared.
What is likely to be the reason for the no show on the network of the Linux machine.
And how do I fix it.
