/proc turned into a file after reboot...
My LFS (linux from scratch) system on a compact flash card has been running for a couple months without any issues. One evening the power went out. When the power came on and the system rebooted the /proc directory was an empty file.
I'm stumped. How can this happen?Last edited by vandyke; 10-15-2010 at 07:58 PM. Reason: added "compact flash"

Digging a little deeper I found that the fstab was replaced with a file that I had copied to the drive shortly before the power outage.
To expound, the file "fstab", when opened for editing had the contents of my personal file that was copied to the cf card a few minutes before the power outage.
The personal file was just a text file containing jokes.
