Two things!
Ok,
So I have a couple threads on here asking for help on various Linux related issues, and each one gets me a step closer (but yet still miles out) of understanding this whole OS. I finally was able to install BlackBuntu, and activate my wireless!!! But now, two more issues have popped up. One: When I boot BlackBuntu and get to the desktop, all of my Icons are disoriented. I have tried several things, fix-splash, nomodeset, and even tried toying with the display settings. But to no avail, I have failed. My second problem is, when I reboot after several times, BlackBuntu gets to the Loading screen, then stops... If I hit any button after a few minutes of leaving it sit, the screen goes black, then nothing.
Now that my problems have been addressed, I do not want to re-format the drive that BB is on as I do not have access to a LAN, only wireless, and I had to have LAN to install the STA drivers. If anyone can help me with getting BlackBuntu back up and running like it should, that would be great!
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and BlackBuntu CE 0.1
both on a 500GBHD, Acer Aspire 5336

I saw one of your earlier posts. That was the first time I had heard of Blackbuntu. Noticed at distrowatch that it is not in the top 100 which means limited number of users. At their site they indicate it is a very specialized distribution designed for penetration testing which is going to mean even more limited users. I noticed they had a forum link, have you tried that? The web site indicates it is gnome desktop so any problem with icons might be resolved by searching for similar problems with any OS using gnome desktop. Your other problem, ??? strange. What hardware do you have?

Did you try the Blackbuntu forum?
Try googling desktop icon problems in gnome. Shouldn't make any difference if it is Blackbuntu or another Ubuntu derivative. I have Ubuntu installed but don't really use it much and am not that familiar. Maybe someone else will come along who is.

I've used a wireless connection to get drivers on more than one occasion.Jay
