    Failed to open file?

    I am running CrunchBang 11 Wardof (32-bit) and i am really enjoying it.

    The problem is, prior to installing CrunchBang i burnt some files to a cd and after i had installed crunchbang i made a new directory and dragged the files into the new directory. But when i double clicked on the files expecting them to open all i got was an error message which stated:

    Failed to open file "filename.html"
    Failed to execute child process
    "/home/alcapop/downloads/firefox/firefox-bin"
    (no such file or directory).

    What's going on here and how can i remedy it, anyone please.

    Hello 'alcapop!'. Welcome to the forums and thank you for writing again.

    As far as I can see, you had firefox browser installed on a directory that apparently no longer exists, or you have not installed it yet. The file seems to ask for firefox execution on folder /home/alcapop/downloads/firefox.

    Please post the output of
    Code:
    whereis firefox
    ,

    Code:
    dpkg -l | grep firefox
    and

    Code:
    apt-cache search firefox
    Otherwise, if you know for sure you do not have firefox installed, then just install it by typing:
    Code:
    apt-get update && apt-get install firefox -y
    using root privilege.

    Hope it helps. =)
