Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

No, I haven't tried it with Puppy. I run Scientific Linux 6.5 (a clone of RHEL 6.5).

Puppy Linux Discussion Forum :: View topic - Stand-alone youtube-dl works without Python installed

Puppy Linux Discussion Forum :: View topic - gtk-youtube-viewer 3.0.2 (for lots of pups)

Any online downloader site works also in my Carolina or Slack0 Puppy installs, as well as Geasemonkey addons and user scripts for greasemonkey in Seamonkey, Firefox, or Chromium in Puppy also.

I use Download Helper firefox addon.

After you install it, it'll put a little icon on your main bar.
When viewing a video on youtube it will light up and animate, click the arrow next to it and choose the version of the video you want to download.

Flash and Video Download 1.59 works for me. It's a plugin that you add to your Firefox browser that lets you download just about anything from the web.
No matter where ya' go, there ya' are.
