Xandros 3 "Wireless Card Recognition"
Greetings All,
Am relitively new to Linux. I cannot get Xandros 3 Deluxe to recognize
my wireless card. I am using a Dell Latitude P-II GT400, the The OSs is
Win98SE,Suse Linux9.3 & the recently added Xandros3.Deluxe. The Wireless
Card is a D-Link AirPlus DWL-G630 "Athros Chip" and is installed in one of the
2 pcmcia slotts
The Xandros installation lists the above three choices of OS's. The card works
well with the Suse Linux 9.3, Gnome System, as well as the Win98se..... Upon the post installation boot, a screen apeared with internet config options,
I followed the GUI's instructions but.... it apeared not to recognize the hardware, "pci card" . Is Xandros built on the Debian Linux System?
Should I look for help in the Debian "Madwifi" Distro section? Is there additional Xandros pkgs/rpms that are needed? Any help would be appreciated?....Thank in advance for any help, links or comments.

I'm not sure but usually you will need ndiswrapper to get it working. As xandros is based on debian you can't use rpms, you use .debs.

Xandros Wireless Card problems
Greetings Juan Pablo,
Thank you for the info. I have been experimenting with the ndiswrapper. I have exteacted the
inf files and sys files and installed the ndiswrapper, " The one included in the Xandros Distro"
inserted the card and rebooted. I t apears the the card has been recognized and one of the
two LED lights is blinking. However when I acess Network Connection......in the control panel
It will not alow me to select DHCP . I have ordered a copy of (Debian GNU/Linux Bible) in hopes
that it will give me a little more insight in dealing with this problem. Thanks again for the info.
