I'm trying to open the startx logged as root but it doesn't run and don't apear anything.

What "doesn't run" mean exactly ?
Have you check X log for potential errors ?
Which distro are you using ?Code:cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE

what to do?
So, "doesn't run" means that after logged in I put startx and press enter it start but nothing appear on my monitor but the HDD still working, what I think is that my video card isn't installed or have some problem with this but my computer a laptop Toshiba M50 with ATI graphics.
I'm usinge the Fedora Core 5 x86.

Did you install a WM? like gnome or KDE
