Desperate!!! Need Help With Assignment!!!

I LOVE the look of KateOS 3's default background. It just so happens, that tomorrow I have a D&T assignment due tomorrow requiring a placemat that aids in the prevention of diabetes.

Could someone please either give me the pictures of the gel fruits OR give me some tutorial somewhere on how to make them?

I have the gimp, I can install photoshop 7 through wine. I am a beginner though, so you don't have to be DETAILED (I can experiment) but please, explain carefully.

I am a graphic designer, i can say the harder thing is drawing the shape of the fruit, the you need to use gradients to get the gloss

Most of them uses photoshop layer style but it's easy to create them without it in the GIMP.

ps: Last night I came across a plugin for GIMP which implements layer styles
