If I use linux, will i still be able to download/install programs that are Windows compatible? Example.. If I want to install a program, but it says "compatible with Windows 95/98/XP and Apple".. will I still be able to download that since I originally had windows?

Linux is different from Windows, so most Windows programs do not work on Linux. However, some programs will work if you use a program called WINE.
