How do I add a program to zenwalk live cd and remaster?

I would like to replace the included netkit ftp program and remaster the live cd. What is the most efficient way to do that?

I've not been around linux or bsd to long (1 year) and i have my share of problems, but this is what i'd do

copy that live cd to hard disk
add your program and dependences support files
edit the loader to start your program instead of the other
look at your new cd size to burn
delete unneeded files if to large to fit cd
burn new cd
