Would you please post the error message you got as root.
Also, when it close in demo mode could you try to switch to one of consoles by ALT+CTRL+F1 through F6? you may get some error messages printed there.
Best Regards,

execute 'fdisk -l' in terminal/konsole and post output here.

you have 2 Primary and 1 Extended Partitions already. Mepis is trying to create two more Partitions and its not possible to create more than 1 partition now.
create one partition and format it in 'reiserfs' format. during installation, select 'Expert' option in Partition Section, select new partition and assign it / (root) mount point.

you should install GRUB/Lilo too. is there any other Linux OS installed in your harddisk? were you using Linux Boot Loader earlier?

Moon
It looks to me like you have all the space on your hard drive allocated already.
/dev/sda1 * 1 22585 181413981 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda2 22586 22598 104422+ 83 Linux
/dev/sda3 22599 30401 62677597+ 8e Linux LVM
sda1 is 181 Gig
sda2 is 10 Gig
sda3 is 62 Gig
Total 253 Gig
Now I see you are having boot problems. If you choose the default drive in the installer there is a good chance you wiped out windows on the default (primary) partition and that is why you are getting boot loader errors.
