    Angry BackTrack V2 Beta, Proxim 8470-WD Problem

    Lappy Spec

    Acer Aspire 3053 1.0Gb Ram 20Gb Hard Disk (Only BT2b installed on harddisk)

    PCMCIA Adapter

    Proxim Orinoco Gold 11b/g 8470-WD

    Problem

    First things first, Backtrack v2.0 final liveCD don't load onto laptop at all, only BT2beta will, 'Auditors Security Collection' LiveCD No problems changing to monitor mode, until it is installed to HD, then i get the same error as below.

    BT2 Beta

    code# iwconfig ath0 mode monitor

    error#

    Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
    SET Failed on device ath0 ; Invalid argument

    I gather that the problem originates from the madwifi Drivers that run the Adapter (I am a total newbie with Linux)

    I have downloaded madwifi-ng drivers and patch even aircrack-ng, with no success, Help me please

    you can try (you card must be off, wlanconfig ath0 destroy)
    wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode monitor
