I use GoboLinux a distribution with an alternative Directory Hierarchy!
Well it doesn't have a extensive Package system, I don't like the idea of depending on one anyway. I like to download and install! That is freedom! But there is some problems on aways installing from source, too many packages (never understood why, and all those dependecies, what a headache)! I'm wondering if there is a way to install multiple tarballs at once, or some way to make my life easier... in fact I just moved to GoboLinux, can you guys point some distributions, with a nice community and little dependence on it's package system?
