Hey guys,,,now the problem im having is during gcc compilation,,,,,

../glibc-2.3.6/configure --prefix=/usr \
--disable-profile --enable-add-ons \
--enable-kernel=2.6.0 --libexecdir=/usr/lib/glibc

The relevent error code in config.log is--
checking for suffix of object files....configure: error: cannot compile suffix of object files: cannot compile

Where do u think im going wrong,,,
