anyone using limewire?

i found ktorrent already on my computer and have begun to make sense of it thanks to netstrider, I'd like to thank everyone for their help. can anyone give a reason to choose torrent over p2p? i wish i had a choice but am stuck with torrent until i am capable of understanding how to obtain a p2p program.ktorrent just seems slow and tedious compared to limewire, kazaa, bearshare, ect. on windows.

Which distribution of Linux do you use? Linux is a bit more tight on security than Windows so I assume it's a port situation.

i want to be as clear as possible, i click download at the limewire website it downloads and then I'm sent to karchiver, i don't know what to do after that, i would be extremely grateful if anyone out there could explain to me how to install limewire in a simple step by step procedure, without using the word "port" i don't know what it means. not only would i be forever indebted to anyone that can help but i think having an easy to follow guide to installing limewire or any other p2p would be very valuable information on the Internet, and would be appreciated by many Linux newcomers like myself.

Freespire is Debian based. download Limewire for Debian.
i assume that you have saved it on Desktop. Open Terminal/Konsole and execute this

cd Desktop
sudo dpkg -i LimeWireLinux.deb

if it throws any error, post exact error message here.

Have you tried first CNR to install Limewire? I searched and it's just there LimeWire Details
