Is it possible for me to download gnome on puppylinux?

I'm going to install puppylinux on a 256mb usb drive and really want to use gnome, and beryl if its possible. If i can do this would puppy still rum from ram or would this change?

Is there any distro that would fit on my 256mb usb that come with gnome installed as default?

And what package manager does puppy use, does it have a full repository of packages like.....say mandriva has?
