Why do you want to use amsn ?
Use Gaim instead. It's installed by default. It has an excellent support for MSN, and you need amsn for that purpose isn't ?
I had amsn on Suse, but it is no big deal !
Perhaps something in this thread posted at mepislovers will be of some use.
