BackTrack V2 Beta, Proxim 8470-WD Problem

Problem

First things first, Backtrack v2.0 final liveCD don't load onto laptop at all, only BT2beta will, 'Auditors Security Collection' LiveCD No problems changing to monitor mode, until it is installed to HD, then i get the same error as below.

error#

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET Failed on device ath0 ; Invalid argument

I gather that the problem originates from the madwifi Drivers that run the Adapter (I am a total newbie with Linux)

I have downloaded madwifi-ng drivers and patch even aircrack-ng, with no success, Help me please
