Crux kernel panic
I am attempting a Crux install in a VM and frankly am getting my arse kicked :D
The latest is
Root filesystem is ext3 which is compiled into the kernel. Despite frantic Googling, I have found nothing else. Is there anything else I am missing?
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root on unknown block (8,1)
I haven't had this much funstration in a long time!
Hey there, elija!
Did you make sure that SATA support is compiled in? Making sure that they have the (*) beside them, as opposed to a module (M)?
Also, thee seems to be a need for SCSI support, as well.
I thought that I'd compiled in the sata support but I'll check tonight and I'll add in the scsi and see what happens.
Well, I have a working crux install :D just the base, but it still feels like a victory
It didn't matter what I chose in make menuconfig, I still got the same damn error so eventually I decided to rename . the .config file and what do you know, I got a completely different set of defaults!
I'm going to start again to see if I can figure out where I fouled up.
