Freespire 2.0 - Adobe install ./configure not found
I have been following the install for Adobe Flash Player as follows;
# 1: Uncompress tarball
To uncompress them, execute the following command(s) depending on the extension:
$ tar zxf file.tar.gz
$ tar zxf file.tgz
$ tar jxf file.tar.bz2
$ tar jxf file.tbz2
Now change directory
$ cd path-to-software/
# 2: Build and install software
Generally you need to type 3 commands as follows for building and compiling software:
# make install
When I get to the './configure' I get the following return;
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
When I ls the directory I get;
What is happening. The directory created by the uncompression is;
'install_flash_player_10_linux' which is a directory on my Desktop.
Any help greatly appreciated...
Also, I tried to install Miro using CNR but, got the message that my Linux version was not supported. Is this correct else why is it available in CNR???
Flash player install now working
Well... I should have gone to the Adobe site first and saved me some greif... My wife would say this is typical of me, taking the long way round to do something. Any way I have the Flash Player working now in Firefox 3. I can now watch all those little movies of pretty 3D decorations of Compiz Fusion and dream of my next laptop that will be able to handle it. Any suggestions. My budget is around 600 Scottish pounds, max and I will be doing a lot of photoediting so need a bit of power and RAM...
Cheers, guys 'n gals...
