Hi, I'm pretty new to Linux and I have DSL running as a server. I have 4 hard drives and when I try to copy files via the Samba share to one of them I am getting a Hard Drive Full error in windows. The file I'm copying is 714mb and when I run df -h I get the following:-
Size=458.4g Used=218.7g Available=216.4g Use=50%
Why can I not copy any more files to this drive?
I highly doubt I will be able to help you solve this, however, let me be the one to start asking the questions that I know others are going to be asking.
1) Is your DSL install on a separate computer, or a virtual machine on your windows computer?
2) Are your four hard drives all in separate computers or a raid array?
3) Where are you copying the file from? DSL computer to Windows computer?
4) I think I know the answer to this, but let me ask anyway: where is the error message popping up?? Like, which computer?
DSL is installed on a separate PC, 1 Hard drive is the install the other 3 are for storage. I copy files to the box through a samba share on my XP machine and the error message is appearing on the XP machine. i am not receiving any message when copying to the other 2 storage disks
Ok, so my next question is this, are the storage drives part of a sata raid, or is there separate data on each drive?Quote:
